Thursday Things I’ve Learned from…Mens Journal

I don’t know WHY I keep getting Mens Journal in the mail, hubby’s doesn’t read (well he can but you know what I mean…he’s not the toilet reader like most men…lol) and I can’t stop it and switch it to something I’d like.  Not even sure how I got it as I never paid for it but it is addressed to me.  Did I have a sex change I didn’t know about and in some sort of denial?!  Because if I did, why haven’t I been taking advantage of standing up wherever to pee?! LOL  Anyhoo…here are some things I learned from December’s issue of Mens Journal…

  1. I found 13 alcohol ads & 28 (TWENTY-EIGHT!) watch ads (yeah…my hubby asked me too why I decided to tally those up and I told him I wanted to know what men were marketed if they didn’t see all the beauty ads women got).
  2. You can rent Isla De Sa Ferradura for $212,000 a week! Yeah, sign me up for a pirate inspired weekend on an isolated island so I can pretend hubby’s Orlando Bloom for the week! LOL (Wonder if it’d be too much to ask for a Christmas/Birthday gift this year from hubby…lol)
  3. Welch’s 100% grape juice is considered the “superjuice” and like wine has great health benefits with the phenolics it contains. It can slow the growth of certain cancers and fight bad bacteria and viruses.
  4. The late Paul Newman “defined” being a man and he was still very good looking to the end.
  5. I learned how to cook the perfect steak like a pro (pg.154) so I can impress hubby and his guy friends.

Too funny! I swear when my husband “reads” a magazine he doesn’t reall read it…he just looks at the pictures. Maybe that’s why he has three watches…

I find it really funny that you read the magazine closely enough each month to make this list. :) At least you’re learning something!

It’s good to know about the grape juice. I never give Brayden apple juice. He is a Welch’s White Grape juice boy all the way!!
For some reason I get Details in the mail, but Anthony never reads it so it always ends up getting thrown away. I can’t even find enough time now to read all my parenting mags, much less a men’s mag… although, I must admit I used to addicted to Maxim!

We get the mags monthly but it typically ends up in the trash. This week was actually the first time I’ve read one; all I learned came from this new issue. :-)

I can’t believe there were that many watch ads. That’s a lot. Do men really want watches? My Hubby has a few. Maybe I can get him another one and he’d actually like a gift I got him.

And about Paul Newman, so true. He was gorgeous until the end.

My husband is into car and computer magazines. He gets excited when he sees his magazines in the mailbox…like a litte kid on Christmas morning (total dork). It seems there’s some interesting things to read in the men’s magazine that you get. Sometimes I read Men’s Health just to get a different perspective…it’s SO different than the women’s health magazines!

I read my husbands men’s magazine a few weeks ago… it was interesting! I learned a bit about how much men just want to be supported even if they are dumb and make mistakes. And they don’t care so much about the model bodies as much as they just want you to feel comfortable and HOT in bed. lol. kind of perked me up a bit.
